Liam started his martial arts training in 1997 in his home country Sweden and worked his way through Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun, WTF Taekwondo, Karate-do and even Iai-do. He received his black belt in Karate from Kyoshi Siamak Rezaie in 2003 before moving the UK. During his time in Karate he won numerous medals and trophies both in Kata and Kumite aside from coaching his team to many many more.
When Liam walked into a Bazilian Jiu Jitsu gym (by mistake) in 2005, he fell immediately in love with the intricacies of the gentle art. His academic background in medicine and teaching has made him a devotee of practical coaching methods, always on the look out for the fastest and most intelligent way to coach athletic skills.
Liam teaches the BJJ Labs Fundamentals and our regular, 8 week, Intro to Grappling (I2G) courses.
When he’s not on the mats, Liam also invests a lot of time on his very popular blog, The Part Time Grappler and is sponsored by Black Eagle Martial Art’s ‘Predator Fightwear’.
