What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai is a combat sport from the muay martial arts of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on foot is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighters very efficient. A professional league is governed by the World Muay Thai Council.

Beginner's Muay Thai -Saturdays 9am - 10am

If you're new to Muay Thai, this is the perfect place for you to start. You will learn the basics from footwork, punching, kicks and knees so that you are ready to join in with the more advanced classes. 

Monday 8-9pm

Sparring class that is light and controlled. The sparring class is fully supervised and gives you a chance to put into practise the skills you are learning in the art of Muay thai.

Wednesday 8-9pm

Pad night is a class for fitness, accuracy and technique. You wlll get 5 rounds or hitting pads and 5 rounds of holding pads for your partner.

Friday 8- 9pm

Clinch night, clinch is an intricate part of you muay thai learning. You will learn sweeps, arm placements and kneeing correctly whilst keeping balance.

Muay Thai sessions are delivered by MFA. As a Fighting Fit member, you can attend 2 muay thai classes per week as well as all the Fighting Fit classes. If you are ONLY interested in muay thai, MFA run their own membership for £55pcm, which will allow you access to all their classes. Call Head MFA Coach John on 07770583190.
