Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art developed in Brazil from aspects of Japanese jujutsu. It focuses primarily on taking your opponent to the ground where he can be controlled and forced to submit with a huge variety of chokes and joint locks. In these classes you are also taught how to use your opponent’s gi (uniform) to control and submit them.
All are welcome regardless of experience and long term members can compete in local, national and international events.
Anyone wishing to attend will need a groin guard and a gi. Beginners can rent a gi for the first few classes.
